The 1st Latin American Congress on Road Ecology (CLEC) and the 1st Colombian Congress on Road Ecology will come together to create the first in-person international platform in Latin America dedicated to road ecology. The congress will bring together scientists, engineers, planners, policymakers, financial institutions, and communities to address the ecological challenges associated with the expansion of transportation networks in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The collaboration between the Latin America and Caribbean Transport Working Group (LACTWG), the Instituto Tecnológico Metropolitano (ITM), and the Red Colombiana de Seguimiento de Fauna Atropellada (RECOSFA) brings together infrastructure, technical expertise, scientific experience, and international reach.
As the host institution and a leading national academic institution, ITM will provide the technical support needed for an event of this scale. RECOSFA will contribute scientific rigor through its extensive experience in wildlife monitoring and mitigating the impacts of Colombia’s linear infrastructure. LACTWG’s participation elevates the congress to a regional scale by supporting the exchange of experiences and connections with experts from across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Together, these institutions will create a space for academic excellence, specialized leadership, and regional collaboration to advance road ecology.
